End Mass Incarceration Project Welcomes You
The End Mass Incarceration Project is part of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. It is dedicated to addressing the historically high, and racially disparate, levels of incarceration in Washington by reducing the number of people incarcerated and the lengths of their sentences and increasing the alternatives to incarceration.

The Problem
There are more people serving life sentences now than were serving prison sentences for all crimes in 1970.
The Sentencing Project (2020)
The massive increases in incarceration rates have not resulted in an increase in public safety and there was never any reason to believe that they would.
